Draconian Rules for Attending "Special Convention"
by BluesBrother inbritish dubs are invited to attend a special convention next summer in dublin , irish republic.
o k, this kind of trip has been done many times before.
however i have never seen such a crude and rigid set of rules that would apply to their own people going on a trip, at their own expense of course.

If I've just been baptized at age 6, such as examples promoted in various yearbooks, why am I suddenly not old enough (age 12) to accompany my baptized parents?
...cuz you are still a kid.
Oh, $hit, you shouldn't have been baptized in a first place!

New one
by freshcrepes ini've been lurking on this forum for over a year, and i thought i'd say a quick hello.. .
i was raised as a jehovah's witness and managed to endure past the encouragement that one receives from age 16 onwards about what is holding me back, and never got baptised.
i figured that making one of the most important decisions of my life requires a lot more thought than people seemed to be giving it, and shouldn't be based on emotion as is quite common.. .

2012 April Public WT Says That:
by Yan Bibiyan inon page 20 it says:.
"...jehovahs witnesses enjoy discussing the bible with.
their neighbors.

On page 20 it says:
"...JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES enjoy discussing the Bible with
their neighbors. Is there a particular Bible subject that
you have wondered about? Are you curious about any of
the beliefs or religious practices of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
If so, do not hesitate to bring up the subject the next
time you come in contact with a Witness. He or she will
be pleased to discuss such matters with you."
(bolding mine)
So, next time you attemt to anti-witness and they try to run away, beat them with this mag on the head (figuratively speaking of course) and call them on their BS.

Len, I realize. But I am looking at the legalistic angle: the latest and greatest noo lite is very specific - Disfellowshipped.

Sorry, hit Enter way too fast.
So, I am thinking since the 4/15/2012 is very explicit on not associating with "disfellowshipped", what about "disassociated"?
They are very legalistic; turn it against them!
Whaddayathik?

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

Welcome MsGrowingGirl20!
Take it slow and don't tell JWs about the book until you get your bearings. I know you just want to run to everyone and show them how wrong the org is. Don't, unless you re ready to be written off.
Sorry if I sound negative in my welcome post; believe me it's for your good.
All the best for now and tell us more about you and your situation when you feel like it.
Also, ask any questions you may have; there is a vast body of knowledge and experience on this board.
